Corporate Responsibility - Tree Planting Challenge

Aviva's participation in the Friends of the Earth (HK) April 2008 Tree Planting Challenge was a great way to share our belief in protecting the environment while restoring countryside previously destroyed by fire. In addition to being the Official Insurance Sponsor of the event, Aviva staff took a hands-on role in the project’s success. 20 members of Aviva management and staff planted 250 seedlings at Tai Lam Country Park, where a fire destroyed a large number of trees.

The Aviva teams also got creative, designing innovative and environmentally-friendly tools to transport the seedlings to the site. Every idea was green: backpacks made from used carton boxes, devices re-modelled from laundry baskets, even rattan bins and aprons! This use of reused or recycled materials was just another way for Aviva to show their enthusiastic support to the goals of the programme.
