Corporate Responsibility - Tree Planting Challenge

As a continued commitment to environmental friendly initiatives, we have actively involved in many green-related events. On 17 April 2011, Aviva sent two teams of volunteers participated in “Tree Planting Challenge 2011” organized by Friends of the Earth (HK).

Friends of the Earth (HK) has launched the "Tree Planting Challenge" since 2005. This has been the fourth consecutive year that we sponsored the event as the official insurer. Our participation has also contributed to the planting of 10,000 seedlings in the countryside of Hong Kong.

During the event, all Aviva volunteers wore the bright yellow tees and carried the creative DIY "Aviva Eco-carriers for seedlings" along to complete the most arduous tree-planting task in town within 6 hours in Tai Lam Country Park. Our hard work has resulted in the planting of 60 trees has contributed to the reductions of 180 tonnes of CO2emissions in Hong Kong.
