Aviva Hong Kong announces the appointment of Charles Hung as Chief Executive Officer, subject to regulatory approval.
Charles has been Chief Risk Officer of Aviva Asia since February 2016 and is currently a member of the Board of Aviva Hong Kong. Charles has over 26 years’ experience in business development, risk management, governance, technology and operations spanning insurance, asset management and banking across Asia, Europe and the US. Before joining Aviva, he was with HSBC Holdings where he was most recently Chief Risk and Administration Officer at Global Software Delivery, and prior to that, he was Regional Chief Operating Officer for HSBC Private Bank (Asia).
Charles replaces Margaret Chiu, who also served as a member of Aviva’s local Hong Kong, China and Taiwan boards, and has decided to pursue other opportunities outside Aviva.
Aviva, Hillhouse Capital Group and Tencent Holdings Limited recently announced an agreement to develop an insurance company in Hong Kong, which will focus on digital insurance.
